Indonesia Purchased 37 Self Propelled Guns Caesar

JAKARTA-(IDB) : Indonesian Defense Ministry confirmed 37 procurement contracts Caesar self-propelled 155mm guns from France.

The contract was signed in the framework of Indo Defence 2012 exhibition.

According to a representative of the manufacturer Nexter Systems contract value to $ 240 million, the delivery will be carried out in the period 2013-2014.

Earlier, the Indonesian Ministry of Defense has announced its intention to purchase 37 self-propelled 155mm Caesar from September / 2012, two guns of this type has been moved to Indonesia and join the parade on 5/10/2012 at this country.

Under the terms of the contract, Nexter Systems will provide technology related to PT Pindad of Indonesia to produce the components of this gun in the future.

With this contract, Indonesia became the 4th customer of the self-propelled gun Caesar.

Earlier, the Thai buying 6 exporter team in 2009, Saudi Arabia purchased 32 team gate value of $ 210 million, Denmark has bought 18 gates teams in 9/2012.

Caear 155mm caliber self-propelled gun, was developed in the 1990s as a test of France's own technology. Four prototypes were delivered to the French Army at the end of the 1990 assessment.

The Caesar series production work began in 2006, and widely delivered to the French Army in 2007.
